2024 Junior State Championships - Hardship Support Funding Application

In Zones that have secured a Zone & Club Junior Program Sponsor for 2024, there will be some funding avaialble to support some families that are experiencing hardship or have multiple children participating in the Junior State Championships. 

• There will be a total of 4 x $500 Support Payments available.
• No more than 3 x $500 payments will be allocated across the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 teams playing in July. There will be a minimum of 1 x $500 support payment held over for the Under 18 teams participating in September. 
• If your family is experiencing some financial hardship and may find it difficult to pay the JSC participation fee and other associated costs relating to the JSC, you can submit an application to be considered for one of these $500 payments. 
• It is only possible to receive a maximum of 1 x $500 support payment per family. 
• These will only be available within Zones that have secured a Zone & Club Junior Program Sponsor. If no sponsor is secured within your Zone, unfortunately you are not eligible to apply.
• Not all applicants will receive funding. All applications will be reviewed by Hockey Victoria and a final decision on whether or not they have been successful will be communicated to them. 
• If successful in receiving one of these support payments, your JSC participation fee will be waived and the remaining funds will be distributed within 14 days of the completion of the JSC. For example, if the participation fee was $380. That would be waived and following the conclusion of the JSC you would receive the difference of $120. 
• If you receive one of the $500 support payments, the participant will be required to be in a photograph in Zone Uniform and provide a brief testimonial to thank the sponsor for enabling you to receive the funding. 
• If the player withdraws and does not participate in the JSC, they will not receive the funding. It will be re-distributed. 
• Should it be that there are less than 4 x applications that are deemed appropriate to receive the support funding, the money can be allocated to the Zone to pay for a product or service that would benefit the Zone (that is not budgeted). Hockey Victoria would need to approve this purchase to ensure the benefit is being maximised.  
• The information provided in this application will only be kept strictly confidential. Only the HV staff members reviewing the application and the Zone Coordinators will see the information. 
  • In the section whereby you can provide further supporting evidence, you can write at the top of that box that you do not wish for the Zone Coordinator to view the additional information if you wish to. 

To date, the following Zone(s) have secured a Zone Sponsor and as such, the participants within this Zone can apply for this support funding:

• South West Eagles

If you are not selected in a team in one of the above Zones, you are not eligible to apply for this funding. 

Applications relating to Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 participants must be submitted by 11.59pm 15th May, 2024. You will then be advised whether you have been successful within 2 weeks.

Applications relating to Under 18 participants must be submitted by 11.59pm 7th August, 2024. You will then be advised whether you have been successful within 2 weeks.
