Life Membership is the pinnacle award, awarded by Hockey Victoria, and recognises exceptional contributions to the sport by individuals.

Award of Merit

The Award of Merit was last awarded in 2001, and was an award of the Victorian Hockey Association. The Award of Merit  has been reintroduced by Hockey Victoria, since 2017, to those that have made a commendable contribution to Hockey in Victoria.

Victorian Hero of Hockey

Since 2014, Hockey Victoria have awarded the Victorian Hero of Hockey to a current Life Member and/or Award of Merit recipient.  This recognition provides the opportunity to highlight the achievements and contributions of this individual at the annual Award Dinner.

Hockey Victoria Community Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Hockey Victoria Community Awards.

Hockey Victoria annually award the five Community Award categories at the annual Awards Night held in September each year. 

Community Club of the Year

This Award recognises the HV Affiliate (Club/Association) that has best demonstrated leadership and/or excellence in line with HV’s values.

Hookin2Hockey Club of the Year

The Hookin2Hockey Club of the Year Award is to recognise those HV Affiliates (Clubs/Associations) that has best engaged with their local community to drive entry level junior participation and provide a structured pathway to enable increased player retention within their club and sport, with a particular focus on Hookin2Hockey.

Administrator of the Year

The Administrator of the Year award is to be presented a HV Affiliate (Club/Association) Administrator in recognition of the service provided to their HV Affiliate and/or the Victorian Hockey community. Nominees for this award may hold any position/s within a HV Affiliate.

Community Coach of the Year

The Community Coach of the Year Award is to be presented to the most outstanding Club Coach within the Victorian Hockey community. Nominees will have provided outstanding service to their respective HV Affiliate (Club/Association) through the development of their players and the programs offered within their HV Affiliate (Club/Association) and/or the Victorian Hockey community.

Community Official of the Year

The Community Official of the Year award is presented to an individual that has provided outstanding service to their respective HV Affiliate (Club/Association) through the development of officiating within their HV Affiliate and/or the Victorian Hockey community. This Award recognises the achievements in the field of Officiating in either Umpiring and/or Technical Officiating.
