Hockey Victoria Performance Coach Programme 

In 2026 coaches will have the opportunity to engage in the new Hockey Victoria Coach Development Programme, Hockey Victoria Performance Coach Programme.  The Performance Coach Programme will run alongside the Hockey Victoria Academy and State teams to provide ongoing support to current and potential performance coaches. 

Quality, depth and breadth of coaching stocks in Victoria are at an alarmingly low supply at the minute. There are simply not enough qualified and accredited coaches with a passion for personal and professional development in the teaching and educating space. We see a way to at least start to bridge that gap is to provide a quality personal and professional development opportunity that is also paid. 

The program will aim to…

·       Provide potential and current Performance Coaches with ongoing development opportunities to better prepare them for the transition to performance and high-performance coaching.

·       Create feedback opportunities to support coach development.

·       Support coaches to attain a coaching accreditation. 

·       Support the identification of future state programme coaches.

·       Give coaches the opportunity to coach some of the best up-and-coming players in the state and for our players to be coached by the best coaches.
