Thank you for taking the time to complete the 2023 Outdoor Events Umpire Expression of Interest Form.

Please note that this form is simply for Umpires to submit your expression of interest to umpire at the JCC, SCC, Hockey 5s Carnival and/or the JSC. Once expressions of interest close Hockey Victoria (in conjunction with HV Officiating Committee) will allocate umpires to panels for each event.

Expressions of interest for the JCC will close at 5.00pm on Monday 1st April and Hockey Victoria will endeavour to inform all successful candidates of their appointments within a fortnight.

Expressions of interest for the SCC, Hockey 5s Carnival and the JSC will close at 5.00pm on Wednesday 1st May and Hockey Victoria will endeavour to inform all successful candidates of their appointments within a fortnight.

The Hockey 5s Carnival is new Event in 2024 and will be held on the June long weekend. It is a seperate Event to the SCC and you can find some further information on it by clicking here. There will be Juniors, Seniors and Masters divisions and it is a great opportunity to get invovled in this exciting new format of Hockey!

Junior Country Championships

The 2024 Junior Country Championships will run on the weekend of Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th May. The venues will be as follows:

Under 14 Boys & Girls - Essendon Hockey Centre
Under 16 Boys & Girls - Greensborough Hockey Centre
Under 18 Boys & Girls - Melbourne Sports Centres Parkville

All Umpires officiating at the JCC will receive coaching across the course of the weekend and a payment of $15 per match they umpire (noting matches are shortened in length).

Senior Country Championships

The 2024 Senior Country Championships will run from Saturday 8th June to Monday 10th June at Melbourne Sports Centres, Parkville. Should team entries numbers be at a level that requires second venue, HV will source one in close proximity to MSC Parkville.

All Umpires officiating at the SCC will receive coaching across the course of the weekend. In 2023, umpires will also be paid $20 per match.

Junior State Championships

In 2024, the Junior State Championships will have Under 12s (Hockey 5s), Under 14s, Under 16s and Under 18s. The event returns to Regional Victoria in 2024.

The Event will run as follows:

Bendigo:

Under 14 & Under 16 Boys – Friday 5th July to Sunday 7th July, 2024
Under 18 Boys & Girls – Saturday 21st September to Monday 23rd September

Shepparton:

Under 14 & Under 16 Girls – Friday 5th July to Sunday 7th July, 2024
Under 12 Boys & Girls Hockey 5s – Wednesday 3rd July to Thursday 4th July, 2024

JSC Umpire Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 5.00pm Wednesday 1st May.

All umpires will receive coaching and mentoring for the duration of the Event, as well as payment of $15 per match.

Hockey 5s Carnival NEW

The Hockey 5s is an exciting new Event launching in 2024. After successfully delivering the Under 12 JSC in the Hockey 5s format last year, this new Event will allow Juniors, Seniors and Masters teams to get a taste of Hockey 5s in a round robin tournament.

It will run at Footscray Hockey Club from Saturday 8th June through to Monday 10th June.

Umpires will be paid $15 per match they officiate and will receive coaching throughout the Event.
