2026 Hockey One – Match Day Volunteer Expressions of Interest

The 2026 Hockey One season is approaching, and Hockey Victoria is seeking Match Day Volunteers for HC Melbourne and Melbourne Cobras home matches. Volunteers will be rostered based on availability and may be allocated across both teams.

HC Melbourne

Venue: State Netball Hockey Centre

• Sat 17 Oct vs Perth Thundersticks

  • Matches: 1:00pm & 2:45pm

  • Volunteer shift: 12:00pm–approx. 4:30pm

• Fri 6 Nov vs Tassie Tigers

  • Matches: 6:30pm & 8:15pm

  • Volunteer shift: 5:30pm–approx. 10:00pm

• Fri 13 Nov vs NSW Pride

  • Matches: 6:30pm & 8:15pm

  • Volunteer shift: 5:30pm–approx. 10:00pm

Melbourne Cobras

State Netball Hockey Centre

• Sun 11 Oct vs NSW Pride

  • Matches: 2:30pm & 4:15pm

  • Volunteer shift: 1:30pm–approx. 6:00pm

• Sat 17 Oct vs Canberra Chill

  • Matches: 5:00pm & 6:45pm

  • Volunteer shift: 4:00pm–approx. 8:30pm

• Sun 25 Oct vs HC Melbourne

  • Matches: 5:00pm & 6:45pm

  • Volunteer shift: 4:00pm–approx. 8:30pm

Bendigo Hockey Centre

• Sun 8 Nov vs Adelaide Fire

  • Matches: 1:00pm & 2:45pm

  • Volunteer shift: 12:00pm–approx. 4:00pm

Please note: Match times are subject to change. Hockey Victoria will not cover travel or accommodation for the Bendigo match.

Volunteer Roles

Volunteers may assist in a range of roles, including:

• Spectator Services & Stewards

• Venue Operations Support

• Merchandise Sales

• Ball Patrol Assistant

• Ticketing (scanning and box office collections)

• Hookin2Hockey Kids Support

Volunteer Benefits

Volunteers will receive:

• Free entry on all rostered match days

• Snacks and water

• An HC Melbourne Volunteer shirt

• One HC Melbourne merchandise item of your choice if you volunteer for two or more match days

Eligibility

• Volunteers must be 16 years or older.

• Volunteers aged 18 years or older must hold a valid Working With Children Check or VIT card.

• Hockey Victoria and Hockey Australia will treat all volunteer applications confidentially and use the information provided only to assess suitability for Hockey One volunteering (unless otherwise indicated, such as for emergency contact purposes).
