2026 Hockey One – Ball Patrol Expressions of Interest

The 2026 Hockey One season is approaching, and Hockey Victoria is seeking expressions of interest for Game Day Ball Patrol across HC Melbourne and Melbourne Cobras home matches. Rosters will be based on availability, and you may be allocated to either team.

HC Melbourne Home Games

Venue: State Netball Hockey Centre

• Sat 17 Oct vs Perth Thundersticks

  • Matches: 1:00pm & 2:45pm

  • Ball Patrol: 12:00pm–approx. 4:30pm

• Fri 6 Nov vs Tassie Tigers

  • Matches: 6:30pm & 8:15pm

  • Ball Patrol: 5:30pm–approx. 10:00pm

• Fri 13 Nov vs NSW Pride

  • Matches: 6:30pm & 8:15pm

  • Ball Patrol: 5:30pm–approx. 10:00pm

Melbourne Cobras Home Games

State Netball Hockey Centre

• Sun 11 Oct vs NSW Pride

  • Matches: 2:30pm & 4:15pm

  • Ball Patrol: 1:30pm–approx. 6:00pm

• Sat 17 Oct vs Canberra Chill

  • Matches: 5:00pm & 6:45pm

  • Ball Patrol: 4:00pm–approx. 8:30pm

• Sun 25 Oct vs HC Melbourne

  • Matches: 5:00pm & 6:45pm

  • Ball Patrol: 4:00pm–approx. 8:30pm

Bendigo Hockey Centre

• Sun 8 Nov vs Adelaide Fire

  • Matches: 1:00pm & 2:45pm

  • Ball Patrol: 12:00pm–approx. 4:00pm

Please note: Hockey Victoria will not cover travel or accommodation for the Bendigo match.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be 14 years or older by the first match.

• Have previous ball patrol experience (e.g. Premier League, previous Hockey One seasons).

Submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee selection. If applications exceed available positions, appointments will be based on previous experience.

Benefits

Successful ball patrol members will receive:

• Free entry on their appointed match day(s).

• One complimentary general admission ticket for a parent/guardian.

• A Hockey One ball patrol uniform (shirt, cap and socks).

Premier League Grand Finals

Hockey Victoria is also seeking Ball Patrol volunteers for the Premier League Grand Finals on Sunday 13 September at the State Netball Hockey Centre:

• Women's Final – 2:30pm

• Men's Final – 4:30pm

You can indicate your availability in the form. Assisting at these matches will be viewed favourably when allocating Hockey One Ball Patrol positions.
