The Hockey Victoria Roadshow Program is the first step for students to be introduced to our great game!

- Safe and fun introduction to an Olympic sport!

- Connect your students to their local clubs!

- It's free and we come to you!

Taking place predominantly in Term 1 each year, Hockey Victoria visits hundreds of Primary Schools across the state, providing FREE introductory hockey clinics to students. We aim to give as many students as possible the opportunity to participate, visiting between 500 and 2000 students per roadshow.

These clinics are run in partnership with the local hockey club/association, where we teach the basics of hockey in a fun and safe game-based environment.

We can run anywhere between 6 x 40-minute to 1-hour clinics in one day, where students will be introduced to the equipment before jumping in and learning basic skills through fun-filled games! The great thing about hockey is we use games previously learnt in school but adapted to hockey, making the learning experience for students that much easier! Students’ all-time favourite game is Hoctopus, the hockey equivalent to Octopus.

For those students who wish to continue their hockey journey after the Roadshow Program is completed, we provide the opportunity to register for Hookin2Hockey at their local club.

Hookin2Hockey is the National Junior Program that gives all participants the opportunity to continue learning the basic skills of hockey, develop fundamental motor skills and make friends. We currently have an average of 5% of students who participate in the Roadshow Program continuing their hockey experience with the Hookin2Hockey Program.

If you are interested in more information on the Roadshow Program or registering your own Hookin2Hockey Program located at your school, please get in touch with schools@hockeyvictoria.org.au
