Volunteers & Ball Patrol needed for Hockey Club Melbourne Match Days

Hockey Club Melbourne are on the lookout for match day volunteers and ball patrol people for the three home match days played at State Netball Hockey Centre on the following dates:

Friday 17th October (v Adelaide Fire)

Friday 7th November (v Brisbane Blaze)

Saturday 15th November (v Canberra Chill)
For all three home match days, the first match takes place at 6.30pm and the second match at 8.00pm.
In addition to the three HC Melbourne home match days, the 2025 Hockey One Finals series will take place in Melbourne at the State Netball Hockey Centre in Parkville on the following dates:

Saturday 29th November (approx. 9.45am – 5.30pm)

Sunday 30th November (approx. 10.15am – 7.00pm)

Ball Patrol Information
To ensure the matches are of the highest quality, we are seeking ball patrol people for each home round. Ball Persons must be 14 years of age by the first match and have completed ball patrol before at some level (e.g. Premier League, previous Hockey One seasons etc).
To express you interest please complete your details through the link above. Please note that this does not guarantee that you will be appointed to a match. If we receive too many applications, we will appoint based on previous experience.
For all three home rounds, the first match will commence at 6.30pm and the second at 8.00pm. Ball patrol will be required to arrive at the State Netball Hockey Centre by 5.30pm and will finish at approximately 9.30pm.
For the finals, there are 4 matches per day. It is likely that individuals will only be rostered to two of the matches on those days. That start times are indicated on the expression of interest form.
All ball patrol people will receive free access on the day(s) that they are appointed. They will also receive one free ticket for a parent/guardian to attend on the day(s) they are appointed to ball patrol. The League will provide a shirt, cap and socks to be worn.
HV are also seeking Ball Patrol people to cover the Premier League Grand Finals being held on Sunday 14th September at Melbourne Sports Centres Parkville with the Women's match at 2.30pm and the Men's match at 4.30pm. If you are available to assist with these matches, there is a section in the form where you can indicate so. Please note that if you assist with these matches, it will be considered favourably when allocating ball patrol for Hockey One matches.
Volunteer Information
There is a Men's & Women's match on each of the HC Melbourne home match days The first match commences at 6.30pm and volunteers will finish at 9.30pm. We will require them to arrive by 5/5.15pm for gates open at 5.30pm.

Volunteers will receive free access to all match days they are working, snacks and water, a HC Melbourne Volunteers shirt. If they volunteer for two or more match days they will also receive one item of Hockey Club Melbourne Merchandise of your choosing from the range we have on offer.
For the finals, there are four matches per day and we have provided times that volunteers are likely to be required at the top of this article.
Volunteers must be 16 years or older to volunteer at the 2025 Hockey One competition. If they are over 18 years of age they must hold a valid Working with Children Check, VIT card or equivalent.
