U14 Junior Indoor Challenge wrap up

Week 1 of the 2026 Indoor Club Championships and Junior Indoor Challenge got underway this weekend! This year the Under 14 Junior Indoor Challenge was the only event going ahead due to reduced team entries from the Open Division 1 event.

Under 14 Mixed Junior Indoor Challenge

The Under 14 Mixed JIC was run on a singular indoor pitch this year at Monash University. The aim of the single pitch was to try and replicate what was being played in the new Indoor League Competitions played in Term 4. This year the Under 14 Junior Indoor Challenge had 8 teams participating across Saturday and Sunday.

A great opportunity for our new and developing indoor talent to experience event like atmosphere for possibly the first time! Each team played 5 matches over the course of the weekend. A big day on Saturday saw each team play 3 matches in their pool groups, with Sunday matches having teams of a similar level being broken up into additional pools and played another 2 matches to close out the weekend.

It was great to see so many new officials and returning umpires participate in the Under 14 Junior Indoor Challenge this year. A special thank you to our Umpire Managers, Tournament Directors, umpire coaches and team staff for assisting with the development of our officials. The Umpire management team have at a minimum one umpire coach on each match with all officials getting valuable feedback after each match to further develop their umpiring ability.
