U14 Girls & Boys take on ICC

Published Wed 04 Mar 2026

Week 5 of the Indoor Club Championships commenced last Friday night (27th Feb), with the Under 14 Girls & Boys.

Under 14 Girls

There was a total of 18 matches played across the weekend at MSC Parkville and Monash University with 139 goals scored, and the leading goal scorer going to Zoe Lewington from Footscray Hockey Club with 21 goals.

The 3rd place playoff match saw an absolute barrage of goals scored, with 10 goals scored in the match. KBH Brumbies Hockey Club would end up showing their dominance by scoring 7 goals with Juliet Sankey scoring a hat trick, Grace Allen scoring twice, and Lily Falla and Jasmine Hartung scoring one each. Essendon Hockey wouldn’t give up without a fight with Emily Cross, Charlotte Harman, and Natasha Toll all scoring one each!

Heading into the grand final Footscray Hockey Club were undefeated with Waverley/Brunswick Hockey Club only losing 1 match in the lead up. Waverley/Brunswick only loss being to Footscray made for a redemption shot at the title for Waverley/Brunswick. Similar to the 3rd place playoff a total of 10 goals would be scored in the game. An incredible game of such high skill saw Footscray show their strength as they had all tournament scoring 8 goals compared to Waverley/Brunswick’s 2 goals. Double trouble from Footscray’s Zoe’s (Higgins and Lewington) both scoring hat tricks in the grand final with Emily Shepherd and Alessia Virtuoso adding to the tally. Waverley/Brunswick’s Tess Barrett scoring both goals for her team bring her tally to 9 goals for the tournament. Footscray Hockey Club are the back-to-back Under 14 Girls Indoor Club Champions!

SF1 would end up seeing PEGS just scrap through betting Footscray 4-3 whilst SF2 saw Doncaster close out Essendon’s run at a grand final, winning 3-0.

The 3rd place playoff match saw was a very close match. Essendon would end up just sneaking over the line with Oliver Haque, Toby Whyte, and Huada Zhong scoring one goal each. Footscray Hockey Club were so close and had multiple opportunities to close the gap but were unfortunately unable to get the win. Ethan Brain and Jacob Dargue would end up scoring Footscray’s goals within the match.

In what will be an amazing Grand Final, both teams had won a match leading into the finale The first matchup would see PEGS get the win 4-1 whilst the second time around Doncaster just got through winning 3-2.

Doncaster wasted no time getting started, scoring two goals early with PEGS being unable to answer back in the first half. PEGS would end up scoring a brilliant goal from Noah Conn at the start of the 2nd. This would end up not mattering a Doncaster put the nail in the coffin scoring a late goal to go 3-1. Jordan Muir, Cooper Sampimon, and Mack Whitbread being Doncaster’s goalscorers to take them back-to-back Indoor Club Champions!
