Represent Victoria at the Indoor Championships right here in Melbourne

Hockey Victoria is excited to call upon Indoor Hockey enthusiasts to nominate for your opportunity to represent Victoria at the 2027 Australian Indoor Hockey Championships.

In June this year Hockey Australia announced that the 2027 Indoor Championships would be contested in Melbourne at the State Netball Hockey Centre - Parkville.

It is more than a decade since HA have hosted any national championship event in Melbourne, a point not lost on HV State Teams & Pathway Admin Manager, James McCallum. "For years our rep community have been asking when will Melbourne host an Australian Championships? So, now's our chance to add a little Victorian flare and help present the best indoor carnival possible."

HV and HA will work closely together to bring the event to our community. Indoor Hockey has been a constant stable for clubs and players for decades in Victoria with a rich history of competition and championship events. This tournament is an incredible opportunity to showcase the very best of Australia's indoor talent, as well as to encourage our members to get behind the Victorian teams and their quest for championship success.

Throughout October, HV will conduct a series of trials across all age groups: OPEN / U21 / U18 / U16 / U14.

Whilst our trials and preparation will remain the same as recent years, the event being in Melbourne will mean that we have opportunity to offer a different experience for our young athletes:

Teams will not stay in shared hotel accommodation but will be able to stay at home and come to the venue daily.
Participants will also save on flights, ground transport and other regular touring expenses.
Victorian teams will have their own dedicated 'team space' within the venue.
Wonderful opportunity to play in front of family, friends and club members
