Nominations for Life Membership and Award of Merit open now

Nominations for 2026 Hockey Victoria Formal Recognition are now open!

The Formal Recognition process highlights individuals that have made a significant contribution to the sport of Hockey. If you know of a longstanding and dedicated volunteer, official, administrator, etc. from within your club or community who may be in line for HV Life Membership or an Award of Merit, please nominate them today.

In 2025, we recognised and inducted three Life Members (Alison Foenander, Desmond ‘Des’ Piper, and Shaun Dooley) as well as one Award of Merit recipient (Neal Williams). We look to continue the recognition at the upcoming Awards Night on Friday, 18th September 2026.

Once nominations are received, each is reviewed and assessed by the Recognition & Awards Committee for Formal Recognition. Based on the information provided, recommendations are made to the Hockey Victoria Board for the awarding of an Award of Merit or Life Membership of Hockey Victoria.

To be recognised for 2026 Formal Recognition, affiliates must submit the nomination prior to 11.59pm Tuesday, 30 June 2026. Please send any nominations direct to Andrew Skillern at askillern@hockeyvictoria.org.au and CC in Keegan Watson at kwatson@hockeyvictoria.org.au.

Any nominations submitted after this date will be assessed by the committee for formal recognition for 2027.
