HV unveils bold Strategic Plan

Hockey Victoria (HV) has today launched its 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, outlining a bold vision for the future of the sport in the state. The plan, developed following extensive consultation with its Affiliates throughout 2024 and informed by both local and international trends, focuses on three core pillars:

Strengthen our Core
Expand the Playing Field
Reinvest in Hockey

The Strengthen our Core pillar emphasises HV's commitment to empowering its community and fostering quality hockey experiences. This will be achieved through participant-focused competitions, events and programs, alongside dedicated support for the organisation's strong network of volunteers within clubs and associations.

Expand the Playing Field aims to drive commercial and participation growth by strengthening existing partnerships and pursuing new business opportunities. A key focus will be engaging with new communities, particularly the rapidly growing South Asian demographic, emerging stakeholders in Melbourne's northwest and major regional centres. By managing quality competitions and expanding its reach, HV seeks to generate new revenue streams for reinvestment.

The Reinvest in Hockey pillar underscores the commitment to strategically allocate new business revenue back into ‘Strengthening the Core’ of the sport.

Through the management of quality competitions, events and programs and increasing our sports reach into new markets we seek to generate new revenue streams to reinvest in the game of Hockey in Victoria.

Tracey Drake, Chair of Hockey Victoria, stated, "Our new plan is bold, challenging us to grow beyond our traditional networks to work with government, commercial partners and other sports to increase the benefits for Hockey and the broader community."

Andrew Skillern, Hockey Victoria Chief Executive Officer, added, "We have listened to our Affiliates' feedback and the new plan seeks to address the needs of our members through the initiatives outlined in 'Strengthen the Core.' The Management team is excited about the ambition in the plan and is energised to continue to service our members and pave a way forward for the sport's future."
