Hockey Victoria (HV) has received a significant boost in its efforts to foster greater inclusion, securing a grant through the Victorian Government's Study Melbourne Inclusion Project (SMIP). The project this week aims to support international students living and studying in the state while aiming to boost participation.
As part of the Study Melbourne Inclusion Program, HV joins 15 other education providers and community organisations in receiving funding for vital support and wellbeing initiatives. These grants aim to ensure international students remain safe, connected and engaged within the Victorian community.
HV successful application will see eight of its affiliated clubs deliver a five-week program in September. This initiative will introduce the sport of Hockey to international students across Victoria, providing them with opportunities for recreation, social connection and skill development.
HV extended its gratitude to the following clubs for their service and commitment to delivering this program:
- Craigieburn Falcons HC
- Melbourne University HC
- RMIT HC
- La Trobe University HC
- Brunswick HC
- Melbourne Sikhs United HC
- Frankston HC
- Caroline Springs HC
