State Netball Hockey Centre
The League Reserve (Saturday 12th) & League (Sunday 13th) Grand Finals will be held at the State Netball Hockey Centre in Parkville. With 18 different clubs being represented across the 14 matches, we are expecting a big turnout and fantastic environment this weekend.
There will be 3 separate areas to purchase drinks & snacks, as well as food trucks and a DJ on the Sunday to provide some good food and tunes throughout the day. The service of alcohol will commence at 12pm on Saturday and 11am on Sunday.
There will be multiple events/competitions running on the weekend on both Saturday and Sunday, so parking will be limited. We encourage commuters to organise carpooling or public transport.
Public Transport
For your convenience, the venue is easily accessible via public transport:
- Metro Trains – Royal Park Station Approximately an 8-minute walk.
- Yarra Trams – Route 58 (Stop 25): Due to works, replacement buses will stop at stop 3, at Royal Park Station.
- For more information, including timetables, fares and maps, please contact 1800 800 007 or visit the Public Transport Victora website.
Alternative Parking
Alternative parking options are available in the surrounding area:
- Street parking in Parkville & Carlton
- Melbourne Zoo car park and nearby streets
- Royal Park Train Station
Entrance
Due to multiple large-scale events taking place, all Hockey players, officials, and spectators are required to enter via Entry C (Zoo Side). This is the same entrance used for Hockey One events. You will not be able to enter the venue through either of Enty A or Entry B, which are the entries that you would typically use when you come to the venue.
Please see the map below.

A reminder that the hockey centre is a licensed venue and bringing alcohol into the venue is not permitted under any circumstances. Bringing excessive quantities of food into the venue is also not allowed.
Make sure that we treat all venue staff and other spectators with respect and abide by the Code of Conduct in our dealings with people in the community. Any individuals not upholding this conduct will be escorted off the premises by security.
Live Stream
Can’t make it to the venue? No worries!

Behavioural Conduct
We understand that as Grand Finals are upon us, there will be larger crowds and there will be moments that will bring out all the emotions that come with competitive sport. There will be excitement and frustration, there will be times you will disagree with a decision made by officials.
It is paramount that we all remember why we are participating. It could be that you:
· Are supporting friends and family
· Love the physical, social and mental health benefits
· Simply love the competitiveness that comes with the sport
Whatever the reason we must all conduct ourselves in the appropriate manner.
Support your team, celebrate wins but be humble, be disappointed in a loss but don’t look for excuses or someone to blame.
Upcoming Eastern Freeway closure
From 10pm, Friday 11 September to 5am, Monday 14 September, the Eastern Freeway will be closed between Chandler Highway and Tram Road.
Thompsons Road will also remain closed in both directions between Bulleen Road and Thompsons Road Ringwood-bound entry ramp, with detours in place.

Don’t forget to thank those who often get overlooked, club administrators, match day officials, whoever remembered to bring the lollies for half time!
Congratulations to all our affiliates on a fantastic season this year, and our sincere thanks to everyone for their contribution to Victorian hockey in 2026. Best of luck to all the Grand Finalist teams this weekend!
