HC Melbourne’s Final Squads are locked in for Season 5 of Hockey One

HC Melbourne has ramped up its preparations for the upcoming Hockey One season, with the club today announcing its final squads. The men's and women's squads, featuring 25 players respectively, will now lock into final training blocks before round one on Sunday 12 of October. 

The men's team fresh off the 2024 premiership victory, is set to bolster its already formidable line-up with the addition of several key players. Newcomers include Kookaburras goalkeeper Jed Snowden and dynamic striker Ky Willott, as the team aims for back-to-back titles. These two additions join a host of Kookaburras in Ephraums, Henderson, Marais and Willott.  

Meanwhile, the women's team is focused on improving on last year's fifth-place finish. A key priority is enhancing their attacking capabilities, after scoring just 10 goals in six matches last season. To address this, the club has signed Hockeyroos midfielder and dual H1 premiership winner Rebecca Greiner, along with English international Rosie Hope. Fresh off the back of the Oceania Cup, New Zealand international players Hannah Gravenall and Hannah Cotter will rejoin the fold in Melbourne.

Featuring a host of international and local talent, HCM is sure to light up the Hockey One Competition.

HC Melbourne’s campaign kicks off on Sunday, 12 October with an away trip to Tasmania to take on the Tassie Tigers, followed by our first home game on Friday 17 October against Adelaide Fire. 

HC Melbourne have 3 home games this year: 
Round 2 – Friday 17 October: HC Melbourne vs Adelaide Fire 
Round 5 – Friday 7 November: HC Melbourne vs Brisbane Blaze 
Round 6 – Sat 15 November: HC Melbourne vs Canberra Chill
