Congratulations to our HCM H2H Club of the Month Winner for May

Huge applause for Benalla Hockey Club, our May HCM Hookin2Hockey Club of the Month! 

They kicked off 2025 with highly successful free "Come and Try" sessions, drawing over 65 kids and averaging 32+ participants weekly. Term 1 wrapped with a fun Presentation Night for over 34 young players. 

Benalla's success truly stems from its coaches: twelve junior players taught skills through engaging games like "Number Hockey," many learned via Benalla's annual Hockey Roadshow. 

Maintaining momentum into Term 2, 33 kids registered for and are actively participating in H2H, enjoying weekly mini hockey games. A special shout-out to Benalla’s Tomorrow-Today Foundation for their vital support with registration fees, ensuring every child can participate. 

Benalla Hockey Club is a fantastic example of community-driven growth! Well done!

Benalla kicked off the year with a fantastic series of free "Come and Try Hockey" sessions, drawing over 65 eager kids for at least one session, with an impressive average of over 32 participants each week. These fun-filled sessions concluded in the last week of Term 1 with a vibrant Presentation Night attended by over 34 enthusiastic young players. Each participant received a personalized certificate, and groups took pride in presenting certificates of thanks to their dedicated coaches. 

Benalla's success truly stems from its dedicated coaches, a remarkable twelve of whom are the Club’s own junior players (all Under 18 themselves!). These amazing young leaders ensure every kid is engaged and having fun, even the very youngest ones close to dinner time, with lively games like "Number Hockey." Many of these popular games were first introduced to participants via Benalla's annual Hockey Roadshow in local Primary Schools. 

Their commitment is so impactful that one mum of an Under 8 player was overheard telling another parent, "Those girls (coaching) out there need medals! They do an absolutely fabulous job with the kids." 

Maintaining momentum into Term 2, 33 kids are registered for and actively participating in H2H, enjoying weekly mini hockey games across Under 8’s, Under 10’s, and Under 12’s age groups. The crowd favourite, "Number Hockey," continues to be an absolute hit! 

A special mention must go to the invaluable support from the local Benalla’s Tomorrow-Today Foundation. Their assistance with registration fees has been crucial, ensuring that every child in Benalla can access activities and club participation each year. This partnership has proven indispensable for families and the Club in 2025.
