Athlete Identification Officer Expressions of Interest now open

Hockey Victoria is currently seeking expressions of interest for the role of Athlete Identification Officers (AIOs) for the 2025 calendar year.
As part of our ongoing commitment to identifying and supporting emerging talent, we require:
- 4 Head AIOs (U14 Boys / U14 Girls / U16 Boys / U16 Girls)
- A minimum of 2 Part-time assistants per section
These roles will be integral during the Junior State Championships (JSC), where AIOs will assess and provide feedback on nominated athletes for our U14 and U16 Academy programs.
Role Responsibilities:
- Attend JSC to observe and assess athlete performance
- Collaborate with senior High-Performance staff to finalise Academy Camp selection lists
- Complete written evaluations and reporting within tight timeframes
- Represent Hockey Victoria in a professional and inclusive manner
Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
- Strong technical and tactical knowledge of hockey
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
- Previous coaching or talent identification experience (preferred)
Training and guidance will be provided to ensure consistency in assessment and reporting practices.
Dates:
- JSC Fixture is to be confirmed
- 11th-13th July - State Netball Hockey Centre and Footscray Hockey Club
Honorarium:
- Head AIOs: $500 for the full tournament
- Part-Time Assistants: $100 per day
Who can apply:
- Zone Coordinators or Team Coaches are Omitted from holding the Head AIO roles for each cohort.
- All Zone Coordinators and Team Coaches may apply to be considered for Part time AIO roles. Each will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
