Annual Diwali and Bandi Chorr Diwas Hockey Cup Event Wrap Up

The 6th Annual Diwali and Bandi Chorr Diwas Hockey Cup was held over the three days, Friday 24 November to Sunday 26 November.

The event saw a great turnout with 6 mens teams, 4 women teams, 7 junior teams and the Victoria Police team partaking.

Men Pool A - PEGS, CFHC Blue, Au Pbi Red

Men Pool B - MSU, Au Pbi Yellow, CFHC Orange

Women - CFHC, Hume, PEGS, NW Lightning

Under 12 - CFHC Orange, CFHC Blue, NW Lightning

Under 14 - Caroline Springs, CFHC

Under 16 - NW Lightning, CFHC

Umpires throughout the event were organsied by Hockey Victoria. 20 umpires including 4 junior developing umpires helped to maintain a high standard of play throughout the tournament.

The event was brought to life with the talented and energetic kids from Melbourne Bhangra Squad, providing a lively atmosphere and bringing everyone together to the beats of vibrant Punjabi Bhangra music. Australian Sikh Support, an NFP, provided free food throughout the event.

Men Winner: Melbourne Sikhs United, Runners Up: Aussie Punjabi Hockey Club (Yellow)

Women Winner: Craigieburn Falcons Hockey Club, Runners Up: North West Lightning Hockey

U12 Winner: Craigieburn Falcons Hockey Club, Runners Up: North West Lightning Hockey

U14 Winner: Caroline Springs HC, Runners Up: Craigieburn Falcons Hockey Club

U16 Winner: North West Lightning Hockey, Runners Up: Craigieburn Falcons Hockey Club
