2026 Women & Girl's Breakfast Wrap Up

Thank you all who attended the 14th edition of the Women & Girls Breakfast last Friday! It was incredible to see the support for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) across the morning.

The morning kicked off with our MC, Bianca Chatfield, leading the way and sharing her perspective on the theme ‘An Athlete's Perspective: Leadership, Commitment, and Pursuit’. As a former captain of the Melbourne Vixens and Commonwealth Game medallist for the Australian Diamonds, she provided excellent insight on the journey of a high-performance athlete.

Bianca led straight into a discussion with our keynote speaker, Kate Moloney (current Vixens captain and Diamonds athlete and medallist). Kate provided valuable insights into here path through junior representative netball and how she worked her way to become captain. This followed here successes and heartbreaks as Captain leading her team on their premiership campaigns and what she sees for herself and the sport in the future.
Heading into the breakfast break, we heard from HV Director, Stephanie Mann, and the relaunch of the Women’s Hockey Network. This was accompanied by an interactive poll for guests to share their thoughts and preference for the Women’s Hockey Network.

We ended the morning hearing from three of our HC Melbourne Women’s rising stars, Mihaylia Howell, Bianca Zurrer, and Zali Ward for their journey through the High Performance space in our sport, and their goals for their budding hockey careers!

We’d like to thank HV Chair, Mike Trenery, and BCNA CEO, Kirsten Pilatti for their time on stage and insights on the year and what’s to come for Hockey Victoria and BCNA respectively.

The raffle was a huge hit, with an absurd amount of raffle tickets sold across the morning. We’d like to thank all for supporting the raffle with all proceeds going towards to BCNA.
