2026 Hockey One fixtures released

The ONE Active Hockey League is set for its biggest and most exciting season yet, with the 2026 fixture delivering a bold new era for Australia’s premier domestic hockey competition.

Melbourne Cobras will make their highly anticipated debut as the League’s eighth club. Their inclusion marks a significant milestone in the competition’s growth, expanding the League beyond the seven-team format used in previous seasons.

In a further boost to the schedule, the 2026 season will feature an expanded fixture, with each team set to play additional matches across the campaign, ensuring more opportunities for players to perform and fans to engage with the competition.

Hockey Club Melbourne will play three home matches and four away fixtures across the seven round season, with memberships set to go on sale in the coming weeks. After back-to-back championships, the HC Melbourne Men are chasing a historic three-peat, while the Women’s side is determined to go one step further to clinch their first championship in what promises to be a fiercely contested season. HC Melbourne's campaign begins on Friday, 10 October with HC Melbourne travelling to face Brisbane Blaze in Brisbane.

For the Melbourne Cobras inaugural season, we will be led by none other than David John and Mitch Hayde as our men’s and women’s coaches, respectively. In the coming months, they will be seeking to build our very first Melbourne Cobras sides in anticipation of our first match on the 11th of October against the NSW Pride.

Round 2 on Saturday, 17 October will see the State Netball Hockey Centre host a Super Saturday showcase. Fans will be treated to four consecutive matches, with HC Melbourne’s Men and Women taking on Perth Thundersticks followed by Melbourne Cobras facing Canberra Chill. The excitement continues the following weekend, with the inaugural Melbourne Derby set for Sunday, 25 October. A clash that promises plenty of intensity as bragging rights go on the line. 

Recognised as one of the premier domestic hockey competitions in the world, the Hockey One League continues to showcase the best of Australia’s elite and emerging talent, alongside a growing international presence. Fans can look forward to 23 nights of prime-time hockey, with every match streamed live and free on 7plus.
