Hockey Victoria are now accepting nominations from eligible members for selection in its 2027 Indoor State Teams, scheduled to contest the 2027 Australian Indoor Hockey Championships.

Player Assessment Days    

Final Player Assessment Information
1. All players are required to bring a white and a black T-Shirt to the Player Assessments, (Grey is neither). 

2. All players are required to arrive to the assessments 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time

3. Players are permitted to nominate and be selected in multiple age divisions. (take note of tournament dates & locations)

4. Hockey Victoria will NOT be providing feedback to players who are not selected in a state team.

5. It is HIGHLY recommended that nominees attend both trial sessions in order to give themselves the very best opportunity to be selected.

6. Hockey Victoria reserves the right to eliminate nominees from the selection process following the first trial session.

AGE ELIGIBILITY

What are the DOB paremeters for each AGE DIVISION:

• The Indoor season is defined as the beginning of October in one year to the end of February in the next year.
• The 2026 Indoor Season will commence in 1 October 2025 and conclude on 28 February 2026.
  • If the competition is an Under 21 competition, a player shall be defined as a player who is 21 years of age and under on December 31 in the year the indoor season commences. Therefore any athlete born on or after 1 January 2005.
  • If the competition is an Under 18 junior competition, a junior player shall be defined as a player who is 18 years of age and under on December 31 in the year the indoor season commences. Therefore any athlete born on or after 1 January 2008.
  • If the competition is an Under 16 junior competition, a junior player shall be defined as a player who is 16 years of age and under on December 31 in the year the indoor season commences. Therefore any athlete born on or after 1 January 2010.
  • If the competition is an Under 14 junior competition, a junior player shall be defined as a player who is 14 years of age and under on December 31 in the year the indoor season commences. Therefore any athlete born on or after 1 January 2012.

TOURNAMENT DETAIL:

• All matches will be contested at the State Netball Hockey Centre, Parkville
  • Matches will be played on both the Indoor Arena and Stadium B
• HV has decided that teams will NOT be staying in shared accommodation and will take the opportunity for players to stay at home or by arrangement as required.
  
  • Teams will have certain attendance protocols in place to help coaches facilitate coaching, bonding requirements.
  • HV has booked a permanant meeting point, time-out space within the venue for VIC squad access only, for the duration of the tournament.
• Hockey Victoria has requested from Hockey Australia permission to enter multiple team in the U14 & U16 divisions and is considering entering development teams into these age divisions.

Financial Commitment
Selected players will be invoiced approx - $1,000
