Event information

Hockey Victoria are now accepting nominations for our 17 and Under HC Melbourne Futures Squad

Following the historic achievement of Hockey Club Melbourne’s inaugural Hockey One Championship victory in 2024, we are proud to once again present our FUTURES Program — an important development pathway for emerging Victorian talent, as the pioneers in this space we have again built out a terrific program for 2025.
The FUTURES Program is designed to provide athletes with high-quality match play and exposure to elite-level hockey environments, while connecting them directly to the culture and standards of Hockey Club Melbourne.
This year’s program highlights include:
-
Round 1 Away trip to Canberra. (Oct 10 & 11)
-
Round 3 Away trip to Newcastle, coinciding with the senior teams’ highly anticipated matchup against the NSW Pride. (Oct 24 & 25)
-
Round 5 at Home, showdown hosting the Queensland Academy in Melbourne, in the lead-up to our senior teams’ games against the Brisbane Blaze that weekend. (Nov 7-9)
-
Round 6 at Home, featuring the return of the VIKINGS Old Boys and VIPERS Old Girls matches, bringing together generations of Victorian hockey talent on the one pitch. (Nov 15)
While we are still finalising some additional practice match opportunities, the season already promises to be competitive, rewarding, and full of unique experiences.
The FUTURES Program is an important stepping stone for players aspiring to one day represent Hockey Club Melbourne at the senior level — just as our 2024 championship-winning squad once did. This is your opportunity to be part of the next chapter in our club’s history, the Current FUTURES alumni that have progressed to the senior squads include, Binanca Zurrer, Trinity Woodward, Maya Hilford and Duncan Jackson.
We look forward to seeing you bring your best to the trial process and beginning the journey that could one day see you wearing the Hockey Club Melbourne colours on the biggest stage in Australian domestic hockey.
