Draft Camp is a development opportunity, as well as a selection event for our Hockey Victoria U16 Camp & Academy.

The Draft Camp combines modified games and match play. It provides athletes with the opportunity to improve their skills and techniques under the guidance of our high performance coaches as well as be assessed and potentially gain selection into the Hockey Victoria Academy Camp. Please see the Hockey Victoria HP Calendar for U16 Academy dates (working on it at the moment). 

HV ACADEMY SELECTION - Draft Camp is our Academy Camp selection event for those athletes who HAVE NOT satisfied the selection criteria for automatic entry and did not participate in the JSC. From the Draft Camp players will be selected for a 1 day camp to then give themselves the opportunity to gain selection in the HV U16 Academy in 2026.

AGE ELIGIBILITY
The athlete is 16 years or under on the 31st of December 11:59pm, 2026. Therefore, if the athlete is turning 17 in 2026, they are ineligible for this event

U16 EMERGING TALENT ACADEMY 2026

This program supplements our mainstream mainstream Academy/State team pathway. We can now offer those athletes who are not selected into the Academy an opportunity to participate in a 2^nd tier program- Emerging Talent Academy.

The aim of this program is to provide field players and goalkeepers at this age and opportunity for a holistic development by rising athletes and individuals, providing opportunities that enable them to develop their talent and skills so that they can play at their best.

During this program we will cover individual skills, game awareness and decision making, really valuable tools for every hockey player. Sessions are designed to encourage the individual to find their level of optimal development by providing and environment to build confidence and improve the skills.

The program will offer 6 sessions + online learnings being presented to both academy groups.

Whitin this Draft Camp registration, you have the option to opt IN or OUT of this program (if not offered a spot within the HV Academy).
