Hockey Victoria is delighted to be offering venue-based Competitions in Term 2, 3 & 4 of 2025 for U8 & U10 participants.

 

Venue-based competition make it simpler and more convenient for new and existing parents and junior participants to engage with the sport of hockey. It will enhance the transition between the Roadshow, Hookin2Hockey and Junior Competition offerings, whilst, also providing a lively and engaging environment for participants, parents and club administrators alike.

With a number of host-venues across metropolitan and outer-suburban Victoria, there is sure to be a competition running on a weekend near you! So make sure to contact your local club today to get involved, and view below for more details.

We strongly encourage all coaches & officials to complete the following educational modules in preparation for their participation in the U8 & U10 offerings:
 
 

At the end of each term of U8 & U10 hockey, carnival days are held at select venues around Melbourne as an opportunity for teams from different venues to come together and play short fun matches against teams they otherwise would not have had the chance to play against.

Date: Saturday 20 June & Saturday 29 August

Time: Approx. 8:00am – 11:30am

Term 2:

  • Brunswick Secondary College
  • Cardinia Storm Hockey Club
  • Cyril Cummins Reserve
  • Werribee Hockey Club
  • Elwood

Term 3:

  • PEGS Sporting Fields
  • Dandenong Hockey Centre
  • Elgar Park
  • Altona Hockey Club

Format: Each team will play 2 (two) matches over the course of the morning against teams from neighbouring venues. These matches will consist of 2x 10 minute halves, with a 2 minute half-time, and a 10-minute change over.

How do I enter a team?: To secure your entry, please RSVP your teams attendance, RSVPS are NOW OPEN and can be completed using the formhere! There is no additional entry fee, but please note match day fees (umpires, venue officer & pitch hire) will still be payable. 

*Current team entry in an U8 or U10 competition have priority for this gala day. Additional RSVP will be accepted based on capacity of the host venue.
