HV Competition & Fixtures - Update

With the welcome news that some restrictions are lifting and community sport able to return, we are now able to provide the details as to how the 2021 season will be re-started and the impact of the Circuit Breaker Restrictions.

We have considered a range of options in relation to the competition restart. The focus has been on ensuring games can return with minimal impact to the schedule whilst maintaining a level of equity and integrity in the fixtures. The following structure also allows for a level of flexibility should we be impacted by further restrictions prior to the end of the season.

Pending further easing of restrictions by the State Government, as previously communicated, HV intends to restart the Winter Season from Friday 18 June. The following outlines the key changes for each competition section:

Juniors

• Addition of playing dates - Friday 9^th / Saturday 10^th of July.
• Grand Finals now Friday 10^th / Saturday 11^th of September.
• Maintain full 14 round season.
• Season to recommence with Round 5 on Friday 18^th /Saturday 19^th June.
• Half Field competitions will conclude as previously scheduled – Team entries for Term 3 competitions will be requested shortly.

Masters/Mid-Week

• Competition will recommence Monday 21^st of June Wednesday 23^rd June.
• No additional playing dates will be added.
• Fixtures have been revised to ensure all teams play each other at least once
• There is no change to the Finals format or dates

Vic League 1 – Metro Competitions

• Recommence Saturday 19^th/Sunday 20^th June.
• Season to recommence with Round 7.
• All competitions reduced to 16 Rounds + Finals.
  • No additional playing dates.
• There is no change to the Finals format or dates

Premier League and Reserve

• Recommence Saturday 19^th/Sunday 20^th June.
• Season to recommence with Round 7.
• 15 Rounds to be played in total, including the Rounds already played. Each team plays each other once.
  • Bye to be added 28^th/29^th August.
• Finals Series to commence 4^th/5^th September.
• Grand Final to be played Friday 24^th September.

Finals Series

• As in previous years we will provide a full finals series schedule including the venues that will be used across the respective grades.

Finals Eligibility

• There is no change to Regulation 8.5 in relation to Finals Eligibility.

Anti Stacking

• The following changes will be applied to the Regulation 8.4
