HOCKEY ED 2010
Hockey Australia's National Coach Accreditation Scheme(NCAS) and National Official Accreditation Scheme (NOAS), involves five national levels of accreditation - Community, Beginner, Development, Advanced and High Performance.
The Community, Beginner and Development programs are administered by Hockey Victoria with Hockey Australia administering the Advanced and High Performance levels through an application process.
The Community and Beginner Accreditations are online programs with a practical assessment.
In 2010 Face to Face Beginner Umpire group sessions will also be conducted in each of the ten zones under the guidance of Hockey Victoria's ten Zone Umpire Development Officers.
In 2011 Face to Face Beginner Coach group sessions will be introduced in the zones under a similar model.
The Development Program is facilitated by Hockey Victoria and is designed to train coaches/umpires in the essential concepts of coaching/umpiring. It is a comprehensive training program involving pre and post seminar requirements, four seminars and practical assessments. The program is directed towards coaches/umpires involved in representative hockey or the higher levels of club/ school hockey in Australia. The Beginner accreditation is a pre-requisite for participants wishing to undertake the Development program.
