Junior State Championships 2010

Hockey Victoria is pleased to announce the return of the Junior State Championships (JSC) for 2010.

The Junior State Championships are the pinnacle in most junior sporting calendars and hockey is no exception, with 10 zones providing increased opportunities for players, the 2010 format will be one to remember.

In 2010 there will be 2 Junior State Championships for both boys and girls:

•    Under 13 and Under 15 -    
28th June – 3rd July 2010

•    Under 17-            
1st-3rd October 2010

In line with Hockey Victoria’s new development Strategy, there will be 6 metropolitan and 4 regional zones competing in the Junior State championships.

The State Championships are a vital part of talented young players development, helping them to achieve the best of their potential.

Development Pathways


The aims of the Championships include:
•    to aid junior players development
•    to foster a positive and cohesive team environment with players from their zone
•    to foster the development of coaches and officials
•    to have each team coached to win the State Championships
•    to have State Under 13 and Under 15 Squads selected
•    to be the first step in identification of players for the Under 18 State Squad

In 2010 Hockey Victoria is proud to announce that the Under 13 and 15 Junior State Championships will be linked to the mens AHL round 2 matches on July 3-4.

Grand Finals of the JSC will be the curtain raiser to the Round 2 AHL matches where there will be an opportunity to showcase the best junior hockey players in Victoria, followed by viewing some of the best mens senior players in the country.
